You could be Toad, Vince.

Paul, you've lost me. I can't spot the connection. They're male?

Waaaah, he's a baddie!

Aren't there any cowardly yet heroic goodies out there :?

Must revise, must not continue Googling for suitable persona, must revise ...

No, he's not a baddie. He's a member of the Brotherhood.

In X-Men Legends II Toad is one kick-ass character. He killed more bosses than Logan did. You have to remember that Marvel has so many variant timelines (as mentioned in the current plot - the latest split is Earth 198, for the geeky) that you can't say that Toad is a baddie as a categorical statement.

The heroes don't tend to be cowardly, y'see. Let me have a think.

Maybe Vince should be Gambit. He's also inclined to talk his way out of fights.

I'll be Nick Fury - the grey is coming along nicely anyway.

Nick Fury has one eye and is black.

You do realise that?

I am trying to work out who we can have as Blade.

Since when?

He definitely used to be white.

I'm fine with it though - I'm colourblind anyway, and I could just as easily have picked someone blue, orange or invisible.

But what turned him black? Did SHIELD introduce a quota system?

Since always.

I think.

Or maybe I'm getting him confused with Theodore from Now And Again. I keep getting Nick Fury's race confused. Not that it matters.

I keep thinking he's like Felix Leiter in the Bond books. They can never decide whether he's black or white.

Nope, pic on wikipedia shows him as Caucasian. Well there you go. But I'm right about the eye.

Well, I've checked, and he still looks white to me.

What clinches it, and makes my choice slightly unnerving at the same time, is that he was played (in a film I've never heard of) by David bloody Hasselhoff!

What? Really? I didn't read that bit. Which film?

Ohmilord.

That looks dreadful.

Anyway. He's black in the Ultimate Marvel timeline. That's where I got the idea (just waiting for Vols 11 and 12 to turn up at the moment).

It looks truly dreadful. If they couldn't even find one, decent still, then the film must be atrocious. It's like they didn't even try to find someone who looks like him.

(Clooney?)

I'm a long time out of the Marvel universe loop. I dipped my toes in during the secret wars, and now and again with spidey and the x-men, but all this alternative timeline stuff is new to me really.

Does the black Fury only have the one eye? I still want to be him - the fact that he's black some time only makes the whole thing fractionally less plausible anyway. :D
