So. Are we going to have League gathering here again? Are we going to see if we can organise our own transport, again? I suppose we should drop a note to our Chariman of Vice and see if she had any thoughts on the matter.

I'm not sure whether I'll be doing it - it's even further to come down from Fife than it is to come from Devon.

Well, I'm up for doing the Dun Run again, if possible.

There's a small matter of staying with Naggers for the entire route this time.

I'm thinking about doing it on fixed, if I can get the saddle issue sorted out.

Mind you, Shackleton's just blown three inner tubes in his rear tyre (he's at home, in the dog house, because the last one bloew overnight). The bugger.

What's the saddle issue?

And it sounds like you've got a persistant sharpy in the wheel/tyre somewhere.

I very much hope I can be there! As ever, depends on the job.

A couple of bungees attached to his seat post should do the trick!

It would be nice to have an East Midlands contingent if Mr McMahon and Frenchie are up for it. The transport is a ballache though and I don't think we can hope for MVC to go through the hassle of the van again.

And Rae's option is decidedly out!

Is the Exmouth Exodus still a runner?

You can fly Edinburgh to Stansted on Easyjet.

Then you could cheat by waiting at the roadside and join the Dun Run halfway, and make a big deal of how easy the ride was.
(Arggh! No! Not the face. Please....)
Or take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street and cycle sto the start point.

I'll have to have a think. I am pretty sure MVC is planning on doing it this year, but I haven't heard from her in a while.

We've got space for a few bodies if you want a break before/after.

Plenty of bike parking space as well, as long as I don't acquire another half a dozen before then.

I haven't heard much from Madame either recently, but she said she was thinking about arranging the van and bus again. I'm presuming that's still the plan.

Jolly good show if that is the case! =D>

Is there anything we could do to help? It seemed like quite a large undertaking last time - particularly getting the van back and disposing of the packng materials afterward.

I was going to suggest that the League and Sorority pitch in a bit more this year. Of course, this relies on MVC letting us know what she needs. If I have to come all the way down from the frozen north to do it anyway, then I might as well take an extra couple of days so that I can be in London to help with preparations. It's just a question of whether I can make it or not.

As Ravenbait already knows, my husband & I are thinking of doing the Dun Run this year. We do, however, need to get some training miles in. We've not done 200km in ove go before, so I'm *encouraging* my other half to get out on his bike more often :axe:

I greatly suspect the League is somewhat fitter than we are. Speed on a bike is something that I don't do! I can pootle all day but I have a genetic aversion to speed & hills. Hence the need to get plenty of training in prior to the event so we

1. complete the event
2. complete the event alive
3. complete the event having enjoyed it
4. complete the event in less than three days

Cheers, helen s
